WOODBURY

Woodbury is a sprawling second-ring suburb located to the east of the Mississippi River and directly south of I-94. It is made up of lots of developments, most of which are connected by almost 170 miles of multi-use trails. These developments are mostly not gated, but often provide their residents with a pool and other amenities.

Despite Woodbury’s large size, it encourages community through events such as Woodbury Days, which features a parade and carnival. The city also offers 3,500 acres of park land and 8 small lakes, in addition to an indoor playground and an indoor-outdoor sports center. Woodbury features two golf courses. Prestwick is privately owned, while Eagle Valley is owned by the city.

Woodbury has several big employers, including the MHealth Fairview Woodwinds Hospital, a Target Distribution Warehouse, and the 3M Corporate Headquarters, just kitty-corner from Woodbury in Maplewood.

Woodbury features three large shopping centers: Tamarack Village, Woodbury Lakes, and Woodbury Village. These each include grocery stores, clothing stores, movie theaters, restaurants, and more, including some establishments that can’t be found anywhere else in the metro area or even the state.

Woodbury is located on I-94 and I-494, in a prime location for driving to Wisconsin, St. Paul, Afton State Park, the St. Croix River, and historic Stillwater. It’s a great option for people looking to live in real estate developments with plenty of amenities and shopping around them.
