Columbia Heights

Anoka County, MN

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS

Columbia Heights is a suburb directly north of Northeast Minneapolis, bisected from north to south by MN 65. It’s a convenient and fast drive into downtown Minneapolis, giving residents the experience of living in Northeast Minneapolis without the high prices of Minneapolis. A unique advantage of living in Anoka County rather than Hennepin is the ability to keep backyard chickens without needing a permit.

Centered around its vibrant main street, there are a variety of attractions, including the historic Heights, Theater, a recently-renovated library, and a pool hall. The community is rich with parks, such as Huset Park, which features a splash pad in the summer.

Columbia Heights has a diverse selection of grocery stores and restaurants, catering to all tastes and preferences. The neighborhoods showcase a wide-range of house styles, from minimalist traditional and 1920s bungalow to mid-century modern and multi-family living. For example, minimalist traditional, 1920s bungalow, midcentury modern ramblers, split-levels, duplexes, and multifamily homes.

Columbia Heights is a great option for anyone looking to live near Minneapolis but without the associated higher prices.
